Description

SPREAD YOUR WINGS IN COZUMEL

Bye, bye boredom and welcome to Villa Rosella, a favorite of vacation goers and bird lovers alike.  Your vacation nest can accommodate up to 11 guests, and offers an array of opportunities to enjoy the great indoors and outdoors alike.

Located on one of the most heralded beaches in Cozumel, San Francisco beach, your seaside residence is also home to white-sand beach, turquoise waters, an endless selection of water sports and beach activities, and birds of many feathers.  But don't just take it from us.  TripAdvisor took a gander, and this is what they had to say:

"Beautiful beach. Nice bar area and gorgeous swimming pool (very clean). The staff were very friendly. Food and beverages were cheap and good.  Excellent frozen Margaritas and authentic chips/salsa."  High praise, indeed!

The private driveway is tree lined and lush with tropical foliage, which birds and people can't resist.  The house is stunning with its majestic columns, large windows, and terraces with views that just don't stop.

There's even a thrid-floor outdoor patio which has a palapa--a thatched cabana-type structure.  There are beach chairs for everyone, so you can bask in the sun and soak in the view, and enjoy some much-deserved R&R.

Inside, Villa Rosella is a flight of fancy, whimsically decorated with many representations of our avian friends. The home is styled in traditional Mexican artistry and elegance, with heavy wood furntiture and cool tile floors. The huge kitchen includes a breakfast bar where you can enjoy a quick bite, morning, noon, or night. You may also elect to have your meals in the official dining room, where the big and beautiful windows make your cooking really shine.

Enjoy the calming island breezes as you drift off to sleep--each bedroom has access to the second-floor balcony. It's also a great place to bird-watch. They are attracted to the bountiful foliage and flowers of Villa Rosella.

To maximize your sleeping options, one of the bedrooms includes a trundle-style day bed that rolls out to comfortably sleep two adults on twin-sized mattresses. A full-sized airbed and an extra mattress are also provided for any overflow guests who decide to spend the night--and don't be surprised when friends show up once they see a few selfies of the condo and the location.

Upstairs, the two mini suites consist of large bedrooms with private baths and private balconies. Downstairs, the bedroom also has a private bath.

Villa Rosella is brilliantly situated just ten minutes from the main oceanfront promenade of Cozumel, and a convenient fifteen minutes south from the international airport.

You'll be close to all of the island's shopping, restaurants and nightlife, and multi-theater movie complex.

So the next time you fly out for a tropical vacation, be sure you land here at the spectacular Villa Rosella, on the ocean, in the middle of the beach, and out of this world.

Large, comfortable villa within walking of beach (Navigator03486101001)
Three large bedrooms each with private bathroom and good sized living and dining rooms. The whole villa has tile floors and lots of windows. Watched the stars from the top floor palapa and walked down to the beach club everyday to swim, eat fish fajitas and walk on the beach. Very safe area, near horseback riding and scuba/snorkeling dock.

Villa Rosella stay (John W)
We came to Cozumel for a 8 day stay and diving trip. Villa Rosella was a very nice place to stay, it was clean and very well kept up. The pool area was a nice place to relax after our dives. We spent some time on the roof top also, eating, playing cards and one night watching the stars. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wanted a nice place to stay.

Perfect vacation place. (Gail F)
The villa is very well appointed with just about everything that you would need. Also, the property is very nicely done and well kept. The location is perfect: very quiet, close to the dive pick-up spots, and beaches--all within walking distance. This is a beautiful property!

Great house in Cozumel (Sharon H)
We visited Cozumel July 9-16,2018. There were 9 of us from both USA and Mexico. We loved the property. It has everything that you need. We loved it that there was an ice chest. We used it a lot on our trips to the beaches. My husband and I were in one of the upstairs suites and it was good, except for the noise of the water pump that is on the roof and ran loudly each time someone flushed or ran water. It was a minor inconvenience The pool was very well cared for and we enjoyed it. The house is very clean and spacious . Tony Rome is very attentive, caring for all our needs and checking with us each day to see if we needed anything. He is a jewel. We enjoyed having the washer and dryer., especially with 9 people using beach towels all the time. We also made use of the beach pads when we went to rocky beaches, We also enjoyed the nearby beach clubs especially on Sunday, when there are no cruise ships in Cozumel. We went to Coconuts Restaurant on the windward side. It is absolutely great. Best view in Cozumel, good food and drinks and a massage to top it all off.. Birds and animals for the kids to see and a guy making grasshoppers and baskets from the tree leaves. We rented a car so we could explore, but the beach clubs are very close, within walking distance of the house. Very nice at Oceans, the nearest beach club. We went on a Sunday,, and they let us use the inflatables and sit in the beach chairs and even said we could use the pool. very nice waiter, Eric. I recommend going there, Food good too. House provides everything, especially lots of bottled water. Very nice. Nice fully equipped kitchen. Our group cooked a lot. We were in Playa del Carmen the week before , so we took the ferry over to Cozumel with all 9 of us and all our luggage. Be sure to get the bicycle taxis to take your luggage from the ferry to the end of the pier where the taxis are. All in all, a very pleasant stay. Sharon Hall. from Texas

Another Great Week in Cozumel (Jerry S)
I'll begin with kudos for Tony, the Cozumel contact and property manager. Not only was he very responsive, he was in contact with us by phone virtually daily to make sure there were no problems. The house was spotless, and the bedroom and bathroom suites were spacious and quite comfortable. There were plentiful towels and during the maids wednesday visit, all sheets and towels were washed and/or changed. We arrived on Friday and stayed until the following Saturday. We anticipated cooking at the house, as we are divers and did not plan on much night life. So we have to rate the kitchen somewhat below par. It has all the right amenities, microwave, refrigerator w/freezer, gas stove and oven, coffee maker, toaster and filtered water with a massive amount of water refills. What the kitchen lacked though was cooking utensils, particularly for oven use. No cookie sheets or baking pans that could be used in the oven. The microwave was noisy and had a warning about melting plastic if used in the microwave. However, there were mostly plastic cups, glasses and plates available. There were about four small ceramic plates. The toaster was also a treat. It toasted, but only on one side of each piece of bread at a time. You had to toast twice, rememembering to spin the bread to get the other side. There were no measuring spoons or liquid measuring glass cups. Lastly, the knives available were extremely dull, so recommend a small knife sharpener be added to the kitchen equipment. While this all sounds terrible, the four of us did enjoy our stay, would come back and can recommend Villa Rosella to any family or group of friends with the understanding the kitchen may not be what you desire. We noticed how well equipped the Villa is for children with cribs, seating, toys. There was a huge number of movies and music on DVD. We can't say how the TV and players worked as we never turned the TV on. All in all we call this another successful and enjoyable Cozumel vacation stay.

Great location and complete amenities (Kelsey M)
Quiet spot, well-stocked kitchen and wonderful pool. Owner and property manager both attentive.

Great location, nice home and yard. Owner and caretaker very helpful. (Patty K)
We had such a great location and a good time. My husband and I had the place to ourselves the first eight days then our daughter, hubby and kids joined us. The yard is well planted and we enjoyed the area around the pool. Our other grandkids ( live in Cozumel) really took advantage of the pool as did I. Such fun. I awakened each day and was on the rooftop by 7 to get the early rays and study Spanish. Each of the three bedrooms is furnished with a comfortable king bed and has its own bath/shower. There is a shower outside too which is convenient. We ate out under the palapa by the pool a couple of times. There is a grill in the back and a large sink for rinsing off snorkels. A two minute (or less) walk gets you to the beach. We could have cut through other spots too but the one to the right by Carlos and Charlie’s is easy. We walked on the beach 2 or 3 miles to the south each morning right after breakfast. You can go to any of the “beach clubs” and order a sandwich or beverage and enjoy “their” beach. We were never hassled or charged. The Mayan Cacao Company, less than a mile walk south is very educational, fun, and has tasty drinks. Go to the areas on a Sunday and with no cruise ships it is not crowded. The town of San Miguel is about seven miles to the north. We called local taxis and could get in for $7. If you use the stand which is almost next door if is $15. Groceries are so inexpensive at Chadrourie (misspelled) and Mega. Almost everyplace took cc, US $, or pesos. Extremely easy. Plenty of movies at the house, lots of CDs for listening and a few books. We really didn’t turn the tv. Use the windows and you can get cross ventilation. There were ACs in the bedrooms but if you open and close windows you don’t need them. Gail (owner) and Tony (caretaker) are very helpful. Tony’s restaurant was closed for remodeling or we would have eaten there. He calls very often to check. Rent a car to go to other side of island. We loved the surf, beautiful water color and scenery but the side we are on is good for swimming. Directly behind the villa near Secrets is a good beach with very little Saragossa. Home is pleasant and roomy, porches off upstairs have hammocks to relax in. Front porch off bedrooms is access to third floor roof or for sitting right outside bedroom during part of day or evening. Couch in living area becomes a bed but we didn’t open it. Washer/ dryer and clothes line are handy. Close the door when you dry, keeps it cool.

Great way to experience the wonderful island of Cozumel (Lorray R)
We visited Cozumel in March. This was our 3rd trip to the island with the first 2 visits being at resorts and without kids. We had 3 kids with us - 11, 9 and 4. We had more than enough room and privacy for the 2 families to share the house, it was fantastic to each have our own bedroom with king size bed, private bathroom and balcony. 3 couples could share this home very comfortably. The home had everything we needed and then some, including a great supply of pool toys for the kids. We used every aspect of the place including getting a massage from Frank SiRa up on the roof top on the first day, so nice he came to us! Tony was accommodating and helpful but we really didn't need to contact him because everything was working perfectly for us. The beach bars are walking distance with fun for everyone - the kids enjoyed the inflatable water park the most. Getting to the east side beaches (kids also enjoyed the "crashing waves") is simple from here as well as getting back into town for supplies. We had better luck with grocery shopping at Sam's than we did at Mega but Mega is a really nice store if you want to stay closer. Gail is so easy to work with, this has been the easiest vacation rental for us so far and we would be happy to spend another vacation here. This experience allowed us to enjoy much more of the island than staying at a resort. There are so many wonderful restaurants and places to go here and we always felt like we were double spending to leave the resort. We visited Punta Sur, Chakannab, Paradise Beach, Carlos and Charlies, all the east side stops and down town on Sunday was so much fun. The kids literally cried when we had to leave.

Nice house for families (Brad C)
Nice 3 bedroom house located 7 miles from town. Pool is small, was perfect for our 4 year old. House had lots of room, well furnished. Tony was very helpful with any issues. Recommend renting a car. Had a nice beach area and dock within easy walking and pickup for dive companies.

Perfect Setting for a Family Gathering (Robert L)
Villa Rosella was lovely. We're an extended adult family through grand kids (six adults, two young children). The house was ideal with three separate bedrooms and baths and many places to get away, find interesting spaces, or gather: private porches with hammocks, three large tables at which everyone could eat (in the house, by the pool palaypa, and on the rooftop palaypa), a living room (inside), etc... . The pool is small, but refreshing. The garden greenery's peaceful with birds and resident lizards ; - ) . The upper rooftop area has a great breeze at night; it's a wonderful place to sit out. The house has many conveniences as well: a gas grill (a little funky), lots of toys and a crib for small children (we were even provided car seats!), plenty of drinking water, toilet paper!, soaps, etc.., some basic cooking supplies (generally not provided at most rentals, such as cooking oil and some spices), and of course, the private pool. The beach and beach clubs--open until 5, are about a five minute's walk from the house. Town is about 15 to 20 minutes away. We greatly enjoyed our stay at Villa Rosella and highly recommend it.

Perfect Bachelorette Party Pad (Jamie C)
I stayed at Villa Rosella with a group of 10 girls for my sister's bachelorette party. Let me start off by saying Gail Fox provided exceptional customer service. Before I booked the property, she spent over an hour on the phone with me answering all of my travel questions/concerns about Cozumel. She was very responsive via email whenever I had more questions. After I booked the property and sent the deposit, I received a cute package from Gail with a guide book of Cozumel, maps of the island, detailed directions, a list of her suggested places to eat, and phone numbers for Tony and his wife - both US and Mexico numbers. Once we arrived to Villa Rosella, we found the house was exactly as we expected based on the listing. With 10 girls in one house, we never felt it was overcrowded. It helped with all of the places to go like the rooftop terrace, the two balconies upstairs in each bedroom, the backyard pool/patio area, and the very open kitchen and living room. There was always somewhere to escape the crowd and find peace. I absolutely loved how big and spacious the bedrooms were. My favorite part of the bedrooms were the balconies with a private hammock on each. The house was kept very clean and well-maintained. We did cook breakfast in the morning, so we found the kitchen to be very fully equipped. It was so nice to have an abundance of beach and bath towels - that was one less thing we had to pack! It was also extremely nice to have not only WiFi, but also a house phone that we could call the US and Mexico for free. The house was very private and i felt very secure with the locks and bars on all of the windows and doors. The location of the house was nice because we were away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. It was very quiet and private feeling. I also liked that there are a few beach clubs right next door - a very short walk from the house! As for the property manager, Tony Rome - he was the BEST! When we picked up the key from his restaurant, we were given lots of toilet paper and paper towels. He called and checked on us at least once a day, if not more. The first day we had toilet issues downstairs and one of the hammocks fell down on the bedroom balcony. I called Tony that evening and he had someone come early the next morning to hang the hammock back up and unclog the toilet. He was so kind and very hospitable. I would highly recommend this piece of paradise and i will certainly be back for another stay!

Beautiful house (Christopher O)
We spent 5 nights at this gem, everything was perfect. We were 7 people and the house never felt crowded. The pool was so nice and we loved watching the stars and moon. The beach is very close. We had the dive boat pick us up at the pier every morning. We cleaned our gear in the sink in the backyard. We always felt very safe and the house is very secure. Tony and Gail were amazing to deal with, Tony called every day to check up on us and see if we needed anything. We will definitely be staying here again..

Had a wonderful stay at Villa Rosella! (Angie/John M)
We spent our Christmas vacation at Villa Rosella with our family. Great house...great location...out of the hustle and bustle of San Miguel where the cruise ships visit. The house is very well appointed...had so much fun in the pool. Gail was amazing to deal with...we had some special circumstances for booking and she accommodated us with each request! Tony Rome, Gail's property manager is a gem! He simply cannot do enough for you...always making sure things are OK and whenever anything was needed, he was available and made it happen. Anyone from Canada going, bring Tony some Tim Horton's coffee...it's his favorite! Great beaches in the area, couple minute walk, and the beach clubs did not charge us for the use of chairs etc, only for the food and drink we purchased...just let them know you are from next door and they are happy to accommodate. Even with our large group, we did not rent vehicles, we used the local taxi service. $340 peso round trip to town, so we paid the fares when we needed to go to town for shopping, meals out etc. Beautiful Island...glad we went...thanks Gail for sharing your Island Paradise with us!

Exceeded All Expectations (Barrie D)
From the moment you walk into this lavish home you are just stunned. Yes the home is large, the rooms huge the decor grand but its the little things that makes this retreat a vacationers dream. The soaps, the shampoos (in all 3 bathrooms) are just so well appointed. The artist of the maid with the towels or the simple folding of the toilet paper, I realize that sounds odd but when you have that much attention to small details then you know the large items aren't even an issue. The rooms were gloriously large and soon quiet. Quiet from outside and quiet from inside. I loved walking to the beach every morning, it's only a short walk. I loved the sound of the birds at Casa Birdie. At first you don't notice it but once you stop and relax in the pool, or the cabana or the rooftop you start to realize your in their habitat. There is nothing better then making coffee (thanks for having the filters there) and then going to the pool and just relaxing. I loved the rooftop in the early morning so I could see the lovely sunrise. I could go on and on. The only thing I should say that really matters is this will be my only consideration for Cozumel. Oh....there's a closet full of toys for the kids. Who does that! I was blown away with the huge closet of beach stuff. How thoughtful. From coolers, to pool noodles, to games. I hate to say it but the cost does not equal the value. I'd pay more easily, but glad its affordable! Gail and Tony were incredible to work with. I wish I had the gift of writing but this is a gem of a property.

Awesome trip! (laura S.)
We traveled to Cozumel with our two small children and friends Jan 27th to Feb 3. We had a fantastic time, the house was very comfortable with plenty of space. The roof top terrace and pool were great, a 2 min walk to beach and beach restaurants. We planned on renting a car but didn't realize the cost of insurance (45 a day) on top of rental charge so we decided against it and just cabbed it everywhere, cabs were very easy to get as they hang out at beach club right next door. The Mega grocery store has everything you need and surprisingly awesome prices. We can't wait to go back again next year, thanks Gail and Tony for being wonderful hosts.

Great house for our family of 10 over New Years! (Peter A.)
Our extended family of 10 people (five adults and five children) stayed at Casa Birdie over New Years, and had a terrific time. The house worked out very well for us. We had two couples, one with two children (ages 9 & 12) and one with three children (twin 4 year olds and a 7 year old), and the grandmother of the family. The fact that Casa Birdie has three separate and equal-sized suites was key, as each large bedroom had its own private bathroom (so each family unit had its own space). The pool in the private backyard area was perfect for our children, and they played in it often while the adults sat in lounge chairs "supervising". (Were we just adults, we would probably not have used the pool much as it's quite small -- which is ideal for families with children!) We rented two cars near the airport, and Casa Birdie was conveniently located south of town. We were glad to have cars because we did not like the "Beach Clubs" right near Casa Birdie, as they are super crowded, but found it very easy to drive to much nicer beaches -- such as our favorite, Playa Palancar, as well as the Punta Sur Park (paid entrance, but worth it!). As noted in other reviews, however, it is easy to walk right to the beach from Casa Birdie, so this is a good option when you don't want to drive. The house has good air conditioning, a TV with DVD player, and a CD player. I appreciated the fact that there was a large selection of good films to watch (both for kids and adults), as well as a good selection of music on CD to listen to while hanging out (Bob Marley being my favorite, but again there was a wide selection). Also, the house has a LOT of space, especially taking into account the roof patio and the back yard space. Finally, Tony Rome was great! We did have a few minor issues arise during our stay, such as the gas (needed to cook) running out and the washing machine not working properly, but Tony promptly took care of these problems for us. Overall, our family was very happy to stay at Casa Birdie and I would recommend it to anyone else with similar needs (large family, wanting multiple equivalent-sized suites, etc.).

Great Cozumel Experience (Kevin I.)
Family of 5 just returned from Cozumel with a weeklong stay at Casa Birdie. House was in a great location as we had a rental car. The house had all the amenities we needed for out stay. House and pool were in great condition and we did not have any issues while staying there. There are several beach clubs next to Casa Birdie which we went too during our stay. We walked in and told them we were from the villa next door and they let us right in. These beach clubs are great for any activities that you may want to do. We parasailed, jet skied and snorkeled. The on island manager is Tony Rome who was very helpful and checked on us throughout our stay to see if we needed anything. Tony Rome also has a restaurant near the plaza at R. Salas and 5 Ave which we had a fantastic dinner while in Cozumel.

The perfect place to have a perfect rest! (sylvain l.)
We just arrive home and we want to thank you for your wonderful villa. The house was perfect and make our trip a relaxing oasis . Our family have a very good stay with all the features of your villa from the roof to the pool. The diving at 45 feet deep was the outstanding activity with my three sons. The villa is very nice and charming and Tony was realy on the job to make everything perfect for us. The villa is at the best spot on the island of Cozumel ....near everything! Special thank to Tony for his efforts and kindness. Lacombe family!

Fantastic vacation spot and experience! (Jeff O.)
Gail Fox has a beautiful home in Cozumel that she makes available and shares with others. The house and grounds are great. Mornings in the back yard are quite pleasant, and viewing the moon rooftop was phenomenal. Everything is well thought out and anything you might need is there and available, leaving nothing to want for- blender, ice cube trays, washer/dryer, phone, boogie boards etc. The rooftop patio and grass palapas are fantastic. I'm not sure if it is stated anywhere, but my party and I were pleasantly surprised to have wifi internet. Catamarans, snorkel tours and diving depart from a dock within a five minute beach walk. Paired with the daily cook service of Chef Fernando this was an excellent vacation. The communication throughout was excellent, with Gail Fox explaining and helping with any information and the resident house care manager was exceptionally nice and went out of his way to make sure everything was perfect. I will definitely stay here again in Cozumel and have recommended it to all my friends that love Caribbean getaways.
