| Description Casa La Ballena is a three-story house located four miles (six km) north of downtown Cozumel, in the Mar y Sol complex, less than a mile away from the Cozumel Country Club golf club. The house can comfortably accommodate up to nine guests.
Entering Casa La Ballena, you will find a large entryway furnished with a futon, bookshelf, and an inviting armchair to relax and retreat from the rest of the household’s activities. You will be delighted with all the fine Mexican furniture and the art and crafts collection decorating this beach house. The hallway leads to the living room and dining room area with spectacular ocean views. For convenience, a half-bath is located on the ground floor. The bedrooms and full baths are on the second and third floors.
The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for your home cooking with modern appliances including a double-door refrigerator, wine cooler, and dishwasher. However, if you are off “cooking duty” during your vacation, ask for our Cook Service, so you can savor the local cuisine in the comfort of your home. The mini-split air conditioning system and ceiling fans will keep you comfortable throughout the house. Maid service is provided six days a week.
The dining room table will seat eight guests in addition to the three stools at the breakfast peninsula. The living room has a flat-screen TV, plus DVD and CD players for your entertainment. Wi-Fi, DSL service, local and international phone calls to the U.S and Canada are included.
The master bedroom has a king size bed and an ensuite bathroom. You will love waking up to the sea breeze and ocean view from your balcony. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and the patio door opens to the balcony overlooking the beach and the pool area. The third bedroom has two twin beds and a balcony with luscious garden view. These two bedrooms share the same bathroom. The fourth bedroom is on the third floor and has two twin beds and a private bathroom.
Best of all, this beach house is ideal for outdoor living. The long, white, sandy beach, the private, fresh-water heated pool, and the screened veranda will make your stay at Casa La Ballena the best Caribbean vacation you will ever have. The outdoor cooking patio is equipped with a gas stove, gas grill and sink, as well as a fresh-water tank to rinse your diving and snorkel gear. The home’s beachfront veranda is furnished as an outdoor dining and living room area. Its dining table will seat six guests. It is the perfect setting to sip a tropical drink on the couch and enjoy our spectacular sunsets.

Enjoy Cozumel staff was great about helping when we needed services (renting a car, scheduling massages, grocery delivery). The house was clean and well equipped! The location was perfect and the option between the pool and the ocean was awesome! We would definitely stay again!
May 1, 2020 Special Place with a View (Jim C) As I write this I am sitting by the pool having coffee and watching another beautiful day come alive at La Ballena. Only 15 steps to the sand and 3 steps to the pool make this place special. The Gardner and pool guy have come and gone and everything is nice and clean. This is not the fanciest place I have stayed but could be may favorite. The home has a freshly remodeled kitchen and apparently new flooring, 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths with air conditioning throughout. The kitchen has more kitchen tools than I have at home and did I mention the view? There is a screened porch where drinks and world solving conversations have taken place and a couch too if you need to rest.The washer and dryer are nice and made packing light. The beds are comfortable and sleep is good with the windows open and the sounds of the ocean in the night.close your eyes...you hear it? The area is very quiet at night and although right next to a large resort there is seldom any noise. The home is close enough to town for a short taxi ride and taxis are readily available on the street. The management company for a fee had groceries stocked with the list I sent so we get right down to relaxing. Did I mention the ocean breeze and the view? Finally the place just has a relaxed feeling. It is a place where a family can safely stay and make memories. And did I mention the view?
March 31, 2020 Great Couples Trip!! (Justin R) We recently stayed at this location with two other couples (six people total) and it was amazing. The beach is literally ten yards from the infinity pool. Downtown is a short, $5 taxi ride so we were able to buy groceries at the Mega store for all week. Breakfast and Lunch were easily prepared in the kitchen and we had dinner out most nights. Water is filtered so safe to drink and cook with. Bedrooms were very spacious and AC in every room. Two bedrooms overlook the ocean with a balcony. Maid service every other day to clean, wash dishes, do laundry. The property manager was very responsive if we needed anything. We spent a majority of our day relaxing around the pool or snorkeling. A ten minute walk down the beach and you arrive at one of the best snorkeling spots I have ever been. There are a few restaurants/bars within walking distance but most you need to reach by the $5/80 peso ride into town. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice relaxing beach/pool experience with snorkeling adventure thrown in. We can't wait to book another trip to this location!!
January 18, 2020 Family Vacation (Erin S) Wonderful vacation rental on the beach of Cozumel! Our family of 4 shared this house with another family of 4, we all had our own space with plenty of room. The kids ages 4-12 enjoyed the many hours spent in the pool, building sand castles on our own beach, collecting shells and playing around on noodles in the calm ocean. It was wonderful that anyone who needed an afternoon rest could go relax in their own space while the rest of the family could still enjoy the pool and ocean. Having a fully stocked kitchen, gas grill, as well as washer and drier is a major plus for families, it is very easy to go to the local shopping center for all your needs, we ate at the house for the majority of meals. January 1, 2020 Location, Location, Location!! (LR ~ McHenry County) Spent a week here with our family and really enjoyed ourselves. The home is very spacious with all the amenities anyone could want. We used the gas grill often and the washer and dryer were great to keep up with all the beach towels. The staff were all very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Even the landscaper that was there daily, took the time to open some coconuts so we could drink the water out of it. Lots of memories made that week.thanks for sharing your home.
December 20, 2019 A perfect place for family vacation (Theresa C) We just returned from our vacation in Cozumel , where we stayed at La Ballena it was absolutely perfect . We have four adult children who live in four different states NE,ID,Co,and IL we all stayed here and had plenty of room for all 8 of us . This was our first time renting a place , we had stayed at all inclusive before. So we really didn't know what to expect . The owners Kathy and Jim and the managers Lori and Jim made everything so easy . They are great people to work with . The house and setting was beautiful and so convenient to get around, be it going to town ,restaurants store airport etc.. We liked everything about the house , pool,and beach ( the beach is nice and sandy not rocky like some parts of Cozumel ) the table in dinning area was large enough to set all 8 of us very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed and then some .the outdoor grill was great and we used it a lot . In the evening we all found our selves sitting in the screened porch area around the table laughing ,playing games and watching the cruise ships go by . If you do not want to rent a car that is no problem because the cabs are just out by the road . They have a book in the house that has some of there favorite restaurants and different thing to do or places to go shopping this was very helpful . While we were there Jim and Lori are a phone call away to help with anything you need or have questions about. We can not say enough good things about our stay. What I will say is we will differently go back and never stay at a all inclusive again. it was great to be on our own time and eat ,drink ,play in pool ,or ocean when ever we wanted !!you don't get that at the resorts. We would highly recommend to anyone thinking about staying here to do it . You will be happy you did !
December 1, 2019 LRBA returns (Double D) Still excited from spending 8 days with 8 girlfriends at this beach front home! We all were housed in 4 inviting bedrooms with plenty of space to roam around. Large table housed us all for meals, games, planning time, and giggles. First night was the best sunset which we enjoyed from floating in the ocean or walking on the beach. The Pirate ship passed in from of the sunset for a memorable picture. The beach was outside the screened in porch and very accessible for dips, paddleboarding, snorkeling by the pier, walks, etc. The pool on their patio was a great pulse for morning, afternoon, or evening dips. Location of the home was very convenient if one wanted to travel to the shopping area, restaurants, and excursions. For the times we needed a taxi, they were parked close outside the gate ..... didn't even need to call for one. The home was well equipped for cooking and seemed to be a moderately priced rental home with a cozy atmosphere. All our needs were met and more. Our snorkel excursions were booked with "Chili Charters -- expericenced tour guides for snorkeling and dives and even hired out for a smaller group sunset cruise. I would recommend them for any of your prospective renters. They were personable, knowledgeable, and you could tell they love what they do. Thanks for offering us this great opportunity to share your home and come back with some of our own memories.
November 20, 2019 Moon - Lover (Girls Get-Away) It was the PERFECT setting for a fun-filled girl's vacation. It is a gorgeous setting and wonderful location. We enjoyed sunsets, beach walks, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and floating in the pool, all without the need of hopping in a car. It is a short ride to town for great shopping, food, and entertainment. You just walk to the front of the property and taxis are waiting to take you to town. The house is beautiful, with all of the special touches of home. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, if you so desire. There was plenty of room for 9 women to enjoy themselves. My favorites were the screened porch, the private pool, and the filtered water throughout the house. (It was safe to drink all water out of the tap) I would HIGHLY reccomend this beautiful home and destination for a great vacation spot. You need to experience La Ballena!
October 31, 2019 Great Vacation (Lolita) Just got back from a GREAT vacation with 8 of my girlfriends. We had a great time at this house. It has plenty of space and a fully stocked kitchen. The screened in porch faces west and the sunsets are wonderful. The in ground pool is very refreshing and it is a great place to relax when the waves in the ocean are too big. The beach has very fine sand which is easy on the feet. The house is very well maintained by the property manager and his crew. If anything goes wrong while you are there, just call Jimmy and he will be right there to fix whatever you need. We went on 2 snorkel trips and 1 sunset cruise. All 3 were wonderful and they were just for the 9 of us. chilicharters.com did a great job of taking care of us. We dined out at Guidos, Kintas, Bucannos, and the Money Bar. All of the food was GREAT!! They only served fish that was caught that day! We also rented 2 paddle boards for 2 days.
October 1, 2019 Crystal Lake Girls Get Away (Margaret) We had a wonderful experience here. It is just perfect for what we like to do. The pool is fabulous and you can still see the ocean from the pool. The house has all the amenities we needed plus more. We will definitely come down again to stay here and not soon enough for me!!!! Loved walking the sandy beach:) Close to town and access to taxis is just so convenient. Can't wait until our next visit!!!
September 12, 2019 A Lifetime of Memories (Jan) Our family had a wonderful week in beautiful La Bellena. It was perfect for the 8 of us. We enjoyed the beach just outside, the pool and snorkeling just a few yards away. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking our meals during the week. The outside kitchen was great for grilling also. The washer and dryer were a plus. We came with high expectations and were never disappointed. We took back a life time of memories. I would recommend La Bellena for any group.
