| Description Coconut Villa (previously: Villa Loyd) is a modern 3-story villa that sits right on the ocean. Enjoy the privacy of your own villa while at the same time being within a 5-minute drive of downtown Cozumel.
This house was built right into the rocky coral formations that form this part of the island. As such, the snorkeling is wonderful here and easily accessible from the villa via a ladder into the ocean. Once in the water, you'll be able to float with the current either south or north, get out, walk home, then do it all over again or swim your way back to the villa.
As you enter the house you'll immediately find yourself on the middle level. This level has a fully equipped kitchen, as well as a dining room and living room, both of which overlook the ocean. A terrace stretches the length of this level and provides a great spot to sit back with a margarita while watching the sunset.
Upstairs you'll find two of the villa's three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, while the 2nd bedroom has a queen. Both bedrooms have access to private baths. Most importantly, the two bedrooms also have terraces that overlook the ocean.
Downstairs is the villa's 3rd bedroom, as well as a 2nd entertaining area with a family-style living room and a bar area. The bedroom has two full-size beds, access to a hallway bathroom and both the bedroom and family room have direct access to the outside.
The backyard is split into two levels. One level has a small sandy area with plenty of loungers for everyone in the house, as well a charcoal BBQ pit. Down a series of short steps is the ocean level, where you ocean easily slip into the ocean via a ladder or just jump off the ramp built into the coral.

Reviews (38)   May 22, 2023 Beautiful Villa (Richard A) From the time we arrived until we left 6 days later, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It’s beautiful inside and out. The backyard is the ocean. Neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We walked to Hemingways restaurant for supper a couple times. It’s a great location. Vic met us there the first day and let us know if we needed anything he’d help. Luckily we didn’t need to bother him. Teresa did a great job cleaning and tidying up the place. This is a great place and would recommend it to everyone.

 March 2, 2022 Excellent house with the perfect location (Denniss C) Just spent a wonderful month at Coconut Villa and would highly recommend this location. The ocean at your doorstep with easy access and some amazing snorkeling made for a unique stay. You can drift dive toward town or swim back as the current is relatively mild. The sunsets from the backyard are equal to any on the island, great to enjoy with a drink and the privacy of your own getaway. The location is also an easy 20 minute walk to restaurants and 30 minutes right to the main commercial area - very convenient.
House is roomy and cozy and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Each bedroom faces the ocean and every level has a balcony to sit and enjoy the tremendous ocean view. Backyard has a good blend of shade and sun and a good supply of comfortable loungers.
Highly recommend this location and would stay again if ever back in Cozumel.1

August 20, 2021 This house has it all! (Wanderer301342) Where to start? When you walk in the front door through the beautiful bouganvia you are greeted with an incredible water view that just gets better and better. The ability to jump into the water from your backyard and be rewarded with a beautiful snorkel is amazing! We spent our days enjoying the water from our backyard and made friends with lots of octopus, lobster, squid, rays - amazing! We took advantage of having wonderful chefs prepare our meals every other day and on the off days simply walked to Hemingways where every meal was wonderful. We even snorkeled down there and simply walked home after. Great family fun and we cannot wait to go back. Victor was wonderful and arranged for us to have a private snorkel boat which again - we simply walked down from the house. Could not ask for better location and can't wait to return!
December 13, 2020 (Laura) this is the third or fourth time using this host and its always perfect. beautiful properties, excellent communication & always accessible. i highly recommend! coconut villa ( villa lloyd ) and villa princessa are both beautiful homes, spacious, clean & well stocked. snorkel off of the back patio. very safe & secure and a four dollar cab to town. the only problem i encountered on this trip was with my traveling companions. choose them wisely but when staying in cozumel you wont find a better host than powell & victor. thank you both so much!! i hope to see you again next winter!
December 1, 2020 Idyllic setting and views (John F) We loved everything about Coconut Villa. The views are spectacular and include sunset viewing. The location is quiet, but close to town. We walked to dinner nightly including Pancho's Backyard and Hemingway's and always felt safe. We also walked just around the corner for a fishing charter at the marina. One of our favorite things about the house was snorkeling right off of the back porch. We snorkeled at a number of locations around the island and liked our backyard snorkeling better than most.

June 1, 2019 Paradise in Cozumel (Audrey B) Upon arrival to Coconut Villa we were in awe of the beauty. The house has spectacular views from every room with plenty of space and is very private. The back of the house sits right on the water which is spectacular! The water is crystal clear and a gorgeous, with snorkeling and swimming right off of the deck. Theresa, the house cleaner, is amazing and efficient!! Victor met us at the ferry and guided us to the Villa; he was quick to respond to any questions we had and made sure our vacation was perfect!
The Villa is walking distance to Cozumel and is very safe with a locked gate. We loved the Villa and definitely want to return! We wouldn’t stay anywhere else!!
April 1, 2019 (Jason) After staying at several different homes throughout Cozumel, Coconut Villa was by far the best. GREAT walkable distance to town which we did on many occasions. BEAUTIFUL sunsets!! And some of the best snorkeling right out of your own back door. Victor was extremely responsive to our needs while we were at the property. Home was kept sparkling clean with continual daily cleaning, fresh towels and linens. Couldn’t have asked for more.

 April 30, 2018 Perfect location for diving, walking to town
(Julie G) We stayed at Villa Lyod for two weeks in April 2018. The snorkeling right out from the villa is excellent; lots of rays and eels along the wall. If you are a diver, this location is excellent for diving with Aldora Divers. Aldora divers owns a villa three houses north and they will pick you up at that location for two morning boat dives. Couldn’t be more convenient. The house itself is well provisioned and very clean - Teresa came in every other day during our stay to clean and did an excellent job. The walk into town is a little ways - we took a taxi back from the MEGA when we went shopping - but otherwise a nice walk. We liked being north of town since it felt more local and quiet. Even though the airport is right there, we were not bothered by any loud noises. We did get one stormy day and lots of water came into the house through the sliding doors. The storm also led to some problems with the water pump and master bathroom smells, but the hosts on the island were very responsive, as were the owners when we reported the problems. All in all, we would recommend this villa, especially for the convenience of diving with Aldora Divers and the excellent snorkeling just off the villa.
April 10, 2018 (John Reppond) As you know, we had the pleasure of staying at Villa Loyd February 1 through Mach 31. This is our second time renting this property. The same as last year, it fit our needs perfectly. Your company is very easy to work with. When I needed Housekeeping days changed, no problem, when we needed extra drinking water, no problem. The yard guys came in and did their normal good job. Picked up fallen palm proms, coconuts, and raked the beach. Whenever we had a question, or needed a little assistance, Victor was always available. While enjoying one of the many great days, I wondered if it would be possible to have a screen door made for the front door to enable the wonderful breeze to come into the house. I mentioned it to "Q", he informed Fred and next thing I knew the carpenter was there taking measurements.It is always a good feeling to know we can come to Cozumel and have a well maintained, clean house to stay in.

August 1, 2017 I walked in an I was happy with my choice to stay at the Villa Loyd
(David W.) My family of four enjoyed our stay at the Villa Loyd. We all had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our own spaces. The property is in good condition. The pictures are accurate for the property. The location was perfect for us. I did have a rental car so I could have full access to the island on my time. The beds were comfortable and we all slept comfortable. I was nervous about the split air-conditioner, but the would freeze me out and I had to shut them off occasionally.
The ocean access was easy to access to swim/snorkel right out the backdoor. I loved the outside shower15' from the access ladder. I could get out of the ocean and rinse my gear and shower for the night right there in my swim trunks. The property manager Alex was helpful when I called on him for information and to assist us with our activity reservations. Overall everything was great and I would stay again. Our only issue were the showers. The Master shower has almost no water pressure, but the other 2 in the house have good pressure if you use one at a time. The hot water takes a bit to heat up but is fine after it does. This is to be expected with how the water systems are set up on the island. The price to me was well worth it. We stayed for a total of 6 nights and I wish it was 6 days longer.
June 10, 2017 (Tina) The home was just as it was presented by Pawel on airbnb! Staying at his home gave us an authentic experience of Cozumel! The water views and accessibility are amazing! There were four of us staying and we had plenty of space and all enjoyed. Victor was very responsive when we needed assistance and the maid service was very good. We were able to cook a meal there with the fully furnished kitchen (recommend washing the dishes before using though as some seemed to have been unused for awhile). Taxis are really easy to catch from the house, but certainly negotiate prices as the drivers can sometimes quote pretty high rates for very short distances - agree on the price before getting in the taxi! Also, renting a bike locally and keeping overnight works well with the space in the front between the gate and the front door. Overall, really glad we experienced Cozumel for the first time while staying at Pawel's place!
May 31, 2017 (Jonathon) House was everything that it was advertised to be. Swimming directly into warm waters with tropical fish with your own beach hut beers and then cool aircon in a secluded but accessible location. Will definitely stay again.
May 1, 2017 Villa Loyd, Cozumel (Kc d.) We spent 2 months at the Villa. It was a great 2 months. The Villa is located directly on the water, so the views were spectacular every day. The housekeeping staff was great. The few time I had to call for assistance for minor, everyday issues, the response was very fast. Every request was met. The Villa was very convenient for us as we went to town most every day and it is only about 1 mile. We had small groups of friends come to Cozumel over the 2 months and the Villa was perfect for entertaining. Already booked the Villa for next year!
February 28, 2017 A View to Wake Up To (Pamela J.) This home was just like the picture, no surprises. It was great to wake up to and go to bed to the fantastic ocean view and be able to watch the ships come in and listen to the waves.
We could walk to town, and the marina.
Friends and family had their own bedrooms and bathrooms.
We were glad we booked this home for all the conveniences and view.
Friendly cleaning staff, even did our laundry for a very reasonable cost.

The location was an added bonus - secluded enough to relax, but close enough to the downtown area such that it was convenient to walk to the restaurants/shops. Despite a last minute change in arrival time due to flight complications, Alex was very flexible and still met us at the ferry dock with a smile on his face before giving us a rundown of the island and information about the villa. Highly recommended!

Providing info package with information full of things to do and contact numbers via email beforehand and then again at the villa. The manager Victor was awesome, we never felt intruded apon. Maid service, plenty of drinking water, hot showers, fully loaded kitchen for preparing our own meals, comfortable beds, it really couldn't have been better. The views were breathtaking & the snorkling was stellar. The deck with the ladder into the sea... Villa Loyd was better than we expected. We stayed for seven days with family and didn't want to leave. Ever. We're coming back to Villa Loyd!

October 1, 2015 (Daniel) Pawell was wonderful in setting up all of the logistical components of the trip and made the entire process smooth and easy. The property manager (Victor) was a fantastic resource for assistance and guidance and just a genuinely good person. Very attentive and consistently checked in with us to make sure both the trip and stay were perfect. The house itself was amazing inside and out with beautiful scenic views of the ocean/surrounding area. Direct and private access to the water was a tremendous amenity. Swimming and snorkeling are both very easy with a relatively mild current that was easy enough to swim against or use for drifting. Very close to downtown (about a 3 minute/$4.00 cab ride), but still just far enough outside of the "hustle and bustle" that you felt insulated from the activity in the heart of town. An available cab would typically pass-by every couple of minutes. Overall, a fantastic experience and would absolutely come back again!
